The total annual cost is about $350 per scout. $140 is paid directly to the Scouting America to cover the national dues and the local South Florida Council fees. Our pack charges $210 per scout each academic year ($160 due in the fall and $50 due in January).
Active military members including reserve and national guard may receive an $85 discount ($265 total instead of $350).
Expenses included in the $350 Scout Dues:
Advancements (awards/achievements)
Metal belt "loops" for Lions through Bears
Pins for Webelos and AOLs
Camping fees for scout
Supplies for advancement activities
Pack 10 t-shirt ("Class B" uniform shirt)
Expenses not included in dues:
Den Advancement Handbook (helpful to have but not required)
Parents' and/or sibling camping fees (usually ~$30 per person depending on the campground)
Fees for local council events or special pack events (e.g. group trip to a museum)
"Class A" uniform
Usually these can be worn for many years depending on growth
Used shirts and pants can be purchased on FB Marketplace and eBay
Parents and Caregivers do not need to pay any dues to be affiliated with our pack; however, all parents who attend camping trips should complete the Safeguarding Youth training online.
Any parent or adult who wishes to be an adult leader within the pack (e.g. a den leader, committee member, cubmaster, etc.) must be a registered volunteer with Scouting America. There is an annual cost of $115 to be a registered leader with Scouting America in our South Florida Council.
